Personal Works
The focus of this project is on developing your personal path and ideas of painting that you would wish to follow.
You will be expected to begin to think about personal ideas and philosophies, as well as discuss and write about them.
Stipulations to this project are as follows:
Your finished paintings (2+) must embody your personal ideas you wish to further explore through time.
You will be expected to write a simple 1 page paper on your philosophy and ideas that you based your paintings on.
Requirements for this project are as follows:
- Must be on stretched canvas, minimum size 18 x 24 inch
- 2+ paintings that represent your philosophies and ideas about painting
- Each painting must have “Sketch” in paint on drawing paper
- You must have 3 to 5 ideas sketched out in your sketch book
- The final version of your paintings are due at the beginning of class Thursday, Dec. 12th, during Dead Week
- 1+ page artist statement about your works, due Dec. 16th by 10:10am
- 5 slide images covering your semester of work, due Dec. 16th by 10:10am
We will critique these works during dead week and may possibly may need to finish during finals week. Finals are scheduled for Monday, December 16th, from 10:10 am to 12:10pm.
