1.      As a class we will discuss ideas of how the presence of a figure or the lack there of activates an environment.

3.      Begin drawing 2 large works based on the sketches of environments and people. These will be a minimum of 42 x 72 inches on archival paper using a combination of graphite, charcoal, and gesso, etc. These beginning images of the environments only, must be as they come from your sketchbook, try not to reinvent what other people that might appear in the environment are doing.

4.      After we have established our environments, we will begin to investigate the ideas of activating a space by adding a figure not previously present to the environment. We will bring in a model and do numerous sketches of various poses.

5.      We will return to our large drawings and activate them with our drawings of the model. Using the sketches of the model, we will now reinvent and activate the environments we created by including this figure not previously present.
